The dark figure lumbered upwards with all the slowness and grace of a snail in a dress, golden runes and underscales glinting in the early morning light. It felt like her body was strapped with lead weights, but there was work to be done. The self-overworked guardian shuffled groggily towards the backroom of her antique shop. her small shop assistant and dear husband padded downstairs as she went to take inventory. "Arvy! how long has it been since you've slept? had a break?"the spiral nagged. "Few dozen hours," Arvia pondered, "we need the business." Her gaze, which threatened to pierce through most of her clanmates itself if it became any more sharp and threatening, always seemed to soften around Malach, but he was never sure if it was just that he knew she didn't mean anything by it. In truth, Malach was simply the only one who allowed her to feel safe. Malach began again, "Arvy, you know you can't-"
"I'm fine. Thank you, Mal, but I just need to take inventory and I can..." Her words seemed to drift away as he spoke, not decreasing in volume, but getting lost in the low static of her growly mumbling. She shook off her tired demeanor and regained composure, "I can catch a nap in the back room."
