Not much is known about Kidara within her clan. Who she was before she became a part of their community remains a great mystery to everyone, even her beloved mate Pulchrior. He, along with the others of their clan, sometimes finds himself wondering what kind of life she led before he met her. The scars she bears that pain her every now and then, and the nightmares that sometimes plague her sleep cause him to worry for her, though he knows to never ask.

Kidara has gotten used to the questioning of her clan mates, wanting to know about her mysterious past. Each time she refuses, and tactfully dodges any comments intended to make her slip up and reveal a small piece of information. Even so, bits of the truth are there if any are keen enough to notice. Her impeccable battle prowess, scars, and impressive knowledge of the lands beyond her clan serve as remnants of her days as a mercenary, a part of her life she does not wish to relive.

Remaining silent does not hide the past completely, and her scars are still there, haunting her life. In her dreams she remembers a time when she was more arrogant, prideful, feeling as though she were invincible and none could hope to best her. Each target fell before her, and with each kill, her pride grew and she took on bigger, more difficult marks in a selfish attempt to prove to anyone who would listen that she was the best warrior the world had ever seen. The change was quick, going from protector to merciless killer. Pride is dangerous, and it makes monsters of even the best dragons. Eventually, one fight with a furious beast let to the destruction of a nearby village when she overestimated her skill. The failure caused her rarely ever get hired and an intense amount of guilt that plagues her even now.

Alone, guilty, and defeated, she lacked the drive to continue on, and wandered hoping that something would come along to end her miserable existence. As luck would have it, members of her clan found her battered, broken and ill at the edge of their borders. They nursed her back to health and accepted her into their ranks when she decided that this was an excellent place to stay and make amends for her past. Life is worth living again, and it is easier to leave the past behind when there is something to protect. Though there is always the nagging fear of her past coming back in some way or another, Kidara will protect her clan with her life and works to improve it. To some, she may seem unpersonable and may find her independent nature off-putting, but they soon learn that beneath the gruff exterior lies one of the most caring dragons the clan has ever known.
