Biography

- The eldest of the three siblings (referring to Lasgalen and Eldamar, who are her siblings)
- Usually soft-spoken, but has an air of authority about her that commands respect
- She enjoys beautiful things and has a special fondness for jewelry and soft silks. Her favorite familiars have luxurious fur, and she enjoys curling up with them on cold desert nights.
- She has innate talent for bone magic, which gives her the ability to cast spells using the bones, teeth, and scales of dragons and other creatures. She can cast spells on herself or on others, with a variety of effects. The most powerful spells, like breed-changing, require the consent of the spell's recipient before they can be performed, but other spells do not always require this. Her powers make other dragons wary of her, but she is too honorable and ethical to perform these types of spells. Her magic is usually used defensively, in protection of the clan.
- Saved Aduial when he fell to Sornieth by using her magic to turn him into a dragon
- Chose his name herself - from her clan's traditions of picking names from a prophet by the name of Tolkien in hopes their hatchlings will achieve success as he predicted.
- Proud to be a Celestial Runner founder, and actually suggested to Galanta the idea.
- She got the scars on her body from training, and though she dislikes answering questions about them, she'll never hide or get rid of them using magic because she is proud of how she got them.
- The epitome of feminine strength and charm. Aduial respects her and her decisions, supporting her the best he can.
- Her best friends are Galanta and Ysaly. They particularly enjoy nesting together. They'll make one giant nest in a field. They usually dig it out and line the outside with rocks and alarms to alert them. They're both trained in fighting, and they'll protect their nests at any costs. Inside the nest, it's usually made out of the softest grass and flowers and feathers and decorated with little seashells and such. Lasgalen once tried to decorate with snake skin and Galanta kicked him out of the nest for an entire day. Any time he tries to decorate with bones or anything creepy, she just gives him this stare and flick of her tail. So she's fully in charge of decorating the nest. Anduin decorates with tiny trinkets that she makes from whatever is laying around. She enjoys having things to do with his hands. Ysaly is the quiet, reserved one. She usually lets them decorate, but enforces the rule that music must be played for the hatchlings to increase their intelligence and they must have at least one book read to them.
- Her Velvet Floracat was given to her by Lasgalen, who found her as a kitten and brought her home to her. She has raised her since and named her Velveteen. Velveteen enjoys curling around the eggs when they're in the nest and helps keep them warm, alongside Stryker (Lasgalen's Buttersnake) and the other familiars in the family. Anduin's favorite thing about Velveteen is her purr.

QUOTE: “No, my heart will not yet despair. Gandalf fell and has returned and is with us. We may stand, if only on one leg, or at least be left still upon our knees.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien

The eldest of three siblings, Anduin is epitome of feminine strength and charm. Typically soft spoken, she still possesses an air of authority that commands respect. One of the founders of the Celestial Runners, she was the one who suggested the idea to Galanta and is rightfully proud of her position in its ranks, and not simply because it was her idea. Despite her powerful and imposing bearing, she is distinctly and delightfully feminine, enjoying all things beautiful. She has a special fondness of jewelry and soft silks, finding great pleasure in adorning herself with such things. She very much lives by the philosophy ‘being powerful is exactly like being a lady, if you have to tell people you are, you aren’t’ and she is undeniably both powerful and a lady. The scars on her body are proof of that. Trained as a warrior she wears her scars with pride, never attempting to hide them, either with clothing or through magic. At the same time, she tries her best not to answer questions about them because that would be too much like boasting for her liking.

Her enjoyment of soft and refined things is reflected in her taste in Familiars. In her opinion the best ones have silky, luxurious fur, all the better for curling up with on the cold desert nights. Her favorite Familiar is a Velvet Floracat which she chose to name Velveteen after the way her thick, soft fur shimmers in the light. Velveteen was a gift from Lasgalen, he’d found the Floracat as a kitten and knew right away that Anduin would love the little creature. He was right of course, for despite all his joking Lasgalen is quite perceptive. If asked what she likes most about the Floracat Anduin’s answer might come as a surprise, it’s not Velveteen’s fur that she finds most endearing, but her purr. And Velveteen’s purr truly lovely thing to hear, deep and mellow like honey, it can often be heard as she curls up with Anduin’s eggs to help keep them warm alongside Stryker, Lasgalen’s Buttersnake, and Jaffa, Aduial’s Barking Jester.

Anduin has an innate talent in bone magic, a rare and unusual skill through which she is able to work magic using the scales, teeth and even bones of Dragons and other creatures. Fortunately most breeds of dragons regularly shed both scales and teeth, meaning that her most commonly used reagents are easy to come by. Bones on the other hand, especially magically potent ones are a bit harder to acquire, meaning that she has numerous contacts with sellers of magical wares. Her talents, though not in high demand, are very much sought after, especially since she is able to use her magic to change the breed of a Dragon. Such a spell requires a powerful and skilled caster, proof of her immense ability. It was through her magic that she met her mate, for such a spell can only be case on one who is willing. Other spells she knows do not require the target to be willing, which makes others wary of her. She would never cast these spells on another though, her sense of honor is too great for that. Typically she uses her magic to protect and defend her clan.

Her mate, Aduial, wasn’t always an Imperial, in fact he wasn’t always a Dragon. Originally he was a comet who traveled within sight of Sornieth and was so struck by its beauty that he decided to crash into it so that the last thing he would see was a brilliant vision of breathtaking perfection. Warned of the coming disaster by Galanta, Anduin hurried to save him and prevent catastrophe. Using her most powerful magic she transformed the comet into a majestic Imperial. Upon learning that the comet-turned-Dragon lacked a name she took it upon herself to find one that best fit him. Following her clan’s traditions of picking names from the writings of the prophet Tolkien in the hope that the Dragons so named will achieve success as predicted in his prophesies, she selected the name Aduial, which means ‘dusk’ or ‘twilight’.

Her two best friends are Galanta and Ysaly. The trio are so close to each other that they frequently nest together, working together to create the perfect space for their eggs. Each contributes their own set of skills to its creation. She does most of the digging and sees to it that rocks are arranged around it in such a way that they will clatter and alert them of the presence of any intruder. If necessary her training as a warrior means that she will be more than capable of defending the nest should such matters prove necessary. Galanta decorates the nest, lining it with soft feathers and grasses as well as flowers and seashells for decoration. Once Galanta’s mate Lasgalen tried to help with the decorating, lining the nest with shed snakeskins. Galanta acted quickly to show him who was boss and since then Lasgalen has made no further attempts at helping the three ladies. When Anduin helps with the decorating it’s usually with small trinkets that she’s made, for she enjoys doing things with her hands. Quiet and reserved Ysaly leaves the decorating and protecting to the others, instead enforcing the rules that music must be played for the eggs and hatchlings, and that even before they’re hatched, books must be read to them so that they grow up with a love of learning. Between the three of them they have raised many successful nests, their children growing up to reach great heights of achievement.
