...BIOGRAPHY...

=====Mate to Lasgalen, Galanta is as patient and reserved as her mate is exuberant and outgoing, the two complimenting each other wonderfully. While Lasgalen’s interests lay in people and magic, Galanta is fascinated by things far more subtle and sedate, specifically the slow and cycling movements of the stars and planets. Ever since she was a hatchling in the Sea of a Thousand Currents she was fascinated by the skies above, spending endless evenings in the shallows, watching the passage of those brilliant points of light, drawing maps of their passage in the salt flats and watching as the rising tides, as regular as the sun and moon, washed them all away. Her family didn’t just tolerate this behavior from her, they encouraged it since such an interest was seen as a highly desirable trait, for reading omens in the sky is a branch of divination, something that Water Flight Dragons pride themselves in. At first she relied others to assist in reading the meanings in her observations, but over time she became an expert in both the science of Astronomy and the art of Astrology. An expert in the Zodiac as seen from above the realms of all eleven Flights, she is able to create complicated and accurate predictions by drawing on her knowledge as well as her innate skills as a Water Flight Dragon. Of course due to her origins she takes a great deal of pride in her talent, what some might to refer to as ‘fortune telling’ she refers to with the far more specific and accurate term ‘meteoric predictions’. It’s an important distinction to a Dragon from the Water Flight since there are many ways to tell the future, such as watching smoke, interpreting dreams, watching how leaves and feathers float on the tide, and casting shells and bones, but calling what she does meteoric predictions means that there is no doubt about how she acquires her information. That and the last thing she wants is for someone to ask her to do a bone casting, ever since she was a hatchling throwing fish bones was easily her least favorite way of glimpsing into the future, not that she has anything against that particular talent, it’s just one that she has no interest in practicing for herself, even if several of her family members are quite good at it.

=====Her interest in the night skies isn’t just about seeing the future though, it’s also a pastime she finds to be enjoyable and relaxing as a hobby, part of the reason she moved to the Starfall Isles. The allure of the massive telescope and ring of observatories found there was too much for her to pass up. To see the stars she had always known in greater clarity and to peer into the space between them, the seemingly impenetrable, dusty blackness in which they were set and find still more stars behind them, spiraling in galaxies like shoals of fish in an infinite sea was too much for her to pass up. In those seldom observed blazing points of light she was able to see new patterns, new meanings, not just of the future, but of the cosmos itself. It was an experience both humbling and exhilarating, letting her know beyond all doubt that she had found exactly where she was supposed to be. The way the clan she joined treated her also helped a great deal with this.

=====There is Lasgalen her mate of course, who she calls her ‘asteroid’ because of how he manages to be both destructive and unpredictable, while still being beautiful to watch. In turn Lasgalen alternates between calling her his ‘little universe’ and ‘little galaxy’ on account of her being too ‘lovely and complex for just one nickname’. His teasing and good humor are what drew her to him, his eloquence and kindness quickly making her decide that they were perfect for each other. Of course the two cannot be together at all times and when she isn’t with her Lasgalen Galanta spends time with Anduin, her best friend and sister of Lasgalen. Understanding her interest in the stars and planets, Anduin worked alongside several other dragons to get her the wonderful gift of a Juvenile Starsweeper to serve as her Familiar. How the delightful, mystical, creature came to be is a complicated story that took Galanta quite a long while to piece together. Anduin presented the Familiar to her as a present to welcome her to the family. At the same time Eldamar insisted that its creation had been the accidental result of something he and the traveling Alchemist Baldwin had been working on. Adding to the mystery is the fact that, when traveling to Swipp to exchange some little trinkets, Baldwin stopped her to ask if ‘she found the gift Eldamar brewed up to be to her liking’. Whatever the story behind the Starsweeper, which she named Luna, she is very pleased with it, which is what matters.

=====Anduin frequently helps her build nests, placing them out in large fields similar to the tidal flats of her home, and surrounding them with carefully arranged stones to alert them of anyone approaching. Since they’re both trained as warriors they will have no problem protecting the nest, not that there has ever been a need to. The pair of them line the nest with soft grass, sweet flowers and feathers, decorating the rim with seashells. On the one occasion that Lasgalen tried to help he used snakeskin and since then whenever her mate tries to help Galanta sends him on his way with a tilt of her head and a flick of her tail, letting him know that she’s in charge, just in case he decides to try and decorate with bones, bugs or something similarly creepy.

...Weeping Stars...

_ Lasgalen came upon his mate standing in a field, her mane blowing in the light breeze that always accompanied the Windswept Plateau. She looked gorgeous, standing in the soft silver glow of the moon. At that moment, he knew better than anyone else how much one could love another and still live. His heart was consumed by her, by their life together. Stepping forward, he came up alongside her and brushed his muzzle along her shoulder. She turned her head toward him and gave a smile.

______ "What's on your mind, oh dragon of starlight?" Lasgalen's voice was soft, his cyan eyes locked on hers. The blue gaze of his mate held his, and their snouts met briefly in a short nuzzle. His heart swelled, and for a moment - just a brief moment, he thought he would explode. But the feeling passed and he rested his head over her neck, brushing her scales lightly with his maw. "I'm thinking about our children, about how lucky they will be to find homes that love them and care for them," Galanta's bell-like voice was soft, and Lasgalen could hear the uncertainty in it. She turned her head to look at him, "What? Don't look at me like that."

______ "I've no idea what you are referring to, little galaxy. I'm not looking at you in any way." Galanta rolled her eyes, reaching out with her muzzle and lightly pulling his mane. He chuckled, then nudged her neck gently, "Our children have done great things before, the next ones will do just as well. Now, come, little galaxy - I have written a song about the most beautiful star in the sky, and I wish to sing it to you. It's a special star... there's only one like it, and she is the most beautiful star that I have ever seen."
