"That's it!" The Fae was hunched over her work, eagerly focused on what lay on the table before her. Moments later a spark burst from the table's surface, rebounding from a wall before fizzling out on the floor. She threw her head back in a fit of victorious laughter. "Yes! I've done it! Finally."

Palantir hurried to her side, and she angled herself to better give him room to take a look at her handiwork. "There! This ability stone will pack way more power in it's punch now. See? By altering the carvings there... and further exaggerating the runes here?"

The Pearlcatcher bent low, examining the stone. "I... oh. Yes. Yes!" Pulling back, her former mentor gave her a warm smile. The Elder had long considered the smaller dragon as he would a daughter; she had come so far since he had taken her under his wing, surpassing his own talents with ease. "Well done, Bandit. Fantastic work as usual."

She laughed again, a hooting, joyous sound. "Oh I can't wait to show Alexandrite these, they'll blow her socks off!" She paused. "Maybe literally, once she gets to using them..."

B I O G R A P H Y

abcCalypso spent her youth traveling across Sornieth, from the highest mountain tops to the depths of the Trench itself and anywhere that lay in between. With time she and a close companion, a fellow guardian named Zylenis, brought together a ragtag band of adventurers, mercenaries, and treasure hunters. The tight-knit group came to be known as Sornieth's Striders, and many tall tales could be told about their wild exploits. In the end, while their venture was a profitable one, it was a way of life Calypso found to be... unfulfilling. When she found her way here, to this place she named the Refuge, she knew that she had finally found a goal worth working towards. And thus Clan Ogygia was formed, providing a home for any in need of one, nestled away in one of the deepest, darkest places in the world.

abcLeaving her adventuring days behind her, two dragons joined Calypso in the pursuit of her new ambition - one of her most loyal compatriots from the Striders' ranks, a fae by the name of Glorfindel, and an imperial from her past, an old flame named Actaeus. As the former lovers rekindled their relationship, the clan grew. Together the three carved out a home in this desolate place, a thriving community of dragons and beastclan alike.

abcCalypso serves as the Clan's Matriarch, revered by the other dragons that consider this cave system their home. Her wisdom, strength and drive to protect those around her has been proven time and time again, cementing her reputation as a leader worth following. At times the guardian may come off as cold or distant to outsiders, as she tends to reserve her warmth for her clanmates benefit alone.

abcThe Matriarch enjoys riddles, strategic games and history in her rarely-spent free time. She loves bonding with others, perhaps too much at times, as she can come off as persistent - even intimidating - when pursuing her urge to familiarize herself with those around her. She can often be found in the clan's Hatchery and is particularly fond of hatchlings, especially whilst brooding. Indeed, Calypso is a creature dominated by her maternal nature and is incredibly family oriented as a result - she fully considers all of her clanmates to be a part of that family. Four of her children chose to remain with in Clan Ogygia, and she holds them closer still to her heart. Some may consider her to be a tad overprotective at times, but Calypso chooses instead to pride herself for being so proactive as to the safety and security of those in her charge. She has no patience for dishonesty, greed or cruelty.

abcGareth serves as the Matriarch's secretary and advisor - which can be a pretty exasperating job! He is charged with a variety of tasks, from something as simple as note-taking to the organization of all official documents, arranging of important meetings, and ensuring that Calypso remains as informed as possible as often as possible. The Serthis also played a vital role in the foundation of Clan Ogygia's societal boundaries and guidelines. Indeed, Gareth has proven himself invaluable when it comes to overall planning and strategic use of the clan's limited space and resources.

abcAnd on top of everything? Perhaps worst of all...? The Matriarch herself! Alright, maybe not, but she does make Gareth want to set his own scrolls alight from time to time. But in the end, even though Calypso might enjoy teasing him, and in spite of his low tolerance for her sillier side, the two remain incredibly close.

abcAs for his youth, despite the brutal reputation of his species, Gareth is far more likely to be caught worrying about the declining quality of parchment than he is with acts of warfare and bloodshed. He survived to adulthood thanks to his cunning intellect, and made it his goal to leave his sect behind him as soon as he could make an escape. Thus after many trials and tribulations the lone Serthis found his way to the Tidelord's domain, and from there the Refuge and his place at Calypso's side.

Bandit: Advisor of the Arcane. Spellsmith and runeworker.

Inheriting what was once considered to be the most troubled role on the council, Bandit has done quite well for herself. She is in charge of magical training, healing, potionmaking, runecarving and the management of other siphons of arcane talent. She is the foremost spellweaver in the Refuge, and helps her mate in the training of clan fighters.

An efficient little Fae, Bandit is passionate about anything arcane, particularly as it pertains to her own talents. While she may seem quiet and subdued at first, just start talking about anything magical and she's liable to start her own presentation on the subject.

Came to the Refuge as a newborn with her mother. After only a few seasons had passed, her mother disappeared, never to be seen again. Eleutho took the hatchling home and she and her mate gladly adopted the lonesome child as their first.

Familiar gifted to her by Vasco as a chick. He imprinted on her, and she often jokes to Legion about the bird being his elder brother. He is heavily utilized as her messenger, and it isn't uncommon to see the storm seeker flying to and fro, delivering letters and information to other Advisors, Elders and mages.
