Courage came upon the clan after fear drove him from his home clan. Though an unnamed dragon at that point, he was given his name by Airacine, as all dragons names are received from her. Once a hatchling becomes full grown, a name is given if they wish to remain. Courage does not know why he was given this name, as he is always terrified around new things, loud noises scare him, everything scares him but the dragons he has learned to know and those who are gentle with him. He tries to live up to his name, but he cannot, unless he sees something that isn't right. That is when he stands up for the dragon and protects them from the dragon doing wrongly towards the other.

Airacine told him that he had a great courage inside him, half the time, well, most of the time, Courage does not see that, but her gentleness towards him and the loving embrace of most of the clan members has made this dragon of light feel right at home under these waves.
