LadySteam's Clan

Everything was lost in an eve. No one saw it coming; the signs were faint. The water darkened as the sun sank in the horizon, and the waves went calm. Then suddenly a monstrous wave, unlike any the tidelord had summoned before, came crashing down. The wave hit us like concrete, scattering my clan throughout the Sea of a Thousand Currents. The waves that once protected us lead to our demise.
Whirlpool was the lone survivor of the disaster. He awoke to find himself in the driftwood drag located in the Tangled Wood. Whirlpool sat up, trying to shake the grogginess away.Through the oppressive murk, he noticed a faint, dancing light. Should he follow? He was well aware of the tricks the shadow flight liked to play on unsuspecting travelers. Feeling that he had nothing else to lose, he decided to follow the little blue light. As Whirlpool navigated through the rotted logs, he noticed the little light was now circling something.

A tiny Bogsneak hatchling grows within. The thick, armored shell makes it unclear what elemental alignment it has taken.

As he approached, he noticed an unusually shaped egg. It was as soaked has he was, but otherwise unharmed.The little blue light began to fly around Whirlpool, and he noticed that it was not a light, but a Gloomwillow guide. Whirlpool brought his attention back to the egg. He felt great sympathy toward the egg. It must have gotten washed away from its family as well. Just as the thought occurred, the egg began to wiggle.

Whirlpool watched as the egg hatched seeing first the feet, then the wings, and finally the head. Its body was a shimmering marigold with cinnamon wings. The hatchling seemed to cast a faint luminesence around it. The little dragon slowly opened its eyes and looked up at Whirlpool. He couldn't leave a newborn alone. He decided that he would take this hatchling with him. He named her Luminosa, because of the faint glow of her scales in the iridescent light. With Luminosa and the Gloomwillow guide in towe, Whirlpool started his long journey back to the tsunami flats.

Months have passed since their journey began. Their only source of food was whatever Luminosa managed to gather while Whirlpool fought back the hordes of foes. As Luminosa grew, she soon began to fight alongside Whirlpool. She had a natural talent for it, and could take the punishment very well. Whirlpool landed powerful, critical hits on the foes while Luminosa gathered breath by guarding him, then used the breath to deliver the final, deadly blow. It was apparent that Luminosa was becoming very attached to Whirlpool. He noticed how she become more reckless in battles as Whirlpool’s health dropped to dangerous levels.

One day as they scavenged for food, the faint glow of the fungi became scarce, making way for lush greens and vibrant flora. As they approached, their senses were assaulted by the natural perfume radiating from the surrounding floral and fruit.
