A medium-sized clan with territory stretching from the northern slopes of the Cloudscape Crags to the shores of the Outer Ocean, covering a comparatively narrow section of the Snowsquall Tundra between. While remaining one clan, Northslope is divided into three lairs.
The progenitors themselves head the Mountain Lair in the southwest part of the territory, carved into the rock of the Crags and partially built into natural caves. It is the physically-largest lair, and contains the isolation rooms where any sick who are likely to be dangerously contagious are housed, as well as any imprisoned criminals or traitors, or dragons coming out of an enthrallment that may require restraint.
The Taiga Lair in the east of clan territory, headed by Voikukka, Argyria and Akari, is the newest-constructed lair at Northslope. It is situated in the highland taiga forest of the foothils of the Crags, and is the only Northslope lair to lie primarily aboveground, as the tree-cover affords some shelter from high winds and heavy snowfalls. Nature-leaning projects usually take place here, unless they are specifically tied to the exposure-loving plants of the tundra. This is also the only subclan whose internal leadership is separate from its representation on the overall leadership of the clan. Silverthaw, the recordskeeper, can be found here. The Seaside Lair, at the far northern boundary of not just clan territory but the land itself, is headed by Wraith and Arquen. This is the oldest of the three lairs, and opens both on the shore itself to the north and on open tundra to the south. It is carved directly into the permafrost, and heavily insulated so that the internal heat does not cause melting. The primary nesting ground is located here, though nests may be assembled elsewhere. This lair also has the clearest access to the river which flows through the west of clan territory, as when it passes the Mountain Lair it is a whitewater cataract.
The Iceberg Fortress is considered part of the Seaside Lair's jurisdiction, but is physically separate. It consists of highly secure chambers carved into the sea ice offshore of Northslope territory, constructed recently for greater security than even the Mountain Lair's isolation rooms can afford. Those in it are those who have done wrong or are sickened or cursed, and were so when they arrived or returned, or were discovered in the Seaside Lair, as well as those who watch over them. Eventually it may also house those who are too dangerous to entrust to the isolation rooms as well. The dragons based here can be found at the very end of the Seaside Lair.
