Veridian's Journey
Veridian and Shadowstone were close, all the way back to when they were hatchlings, having come from the same clan. They spent every bit of time together that they could until Veridian came to realize that her charge was to leave and pursue her own adventures throughout Sornieth. Hesitant to leave their home and his devotion to the Windsinger, Shadowstone decided to stay, which emotionally wounded Veridian greatly. She couldn’t even bear to face the mirror before she left, leaving a rift of betrayal between the two.
Veridian’s beginning took her through the Sea of a Thousand Currents, where she learned tales of the many great Guardians who’d traveled from their race’s birthplace to expand and find their charges elsewhere. She was inspired by their stories, but despite her rejuvenation of spirit, the sadness of having to leave her dearest friend behind always stuck with her.
The female’s travels eventually brought her to the lands of the Gladekeeper, where she met Orik, patriarch of the Gladepool Nurturers. After relaying her story, the healer and his mate kept her under their wings long enough for her to replenish supplies and rest before setting out again. In that time, Orik’s words comforted Veridian.
“Even in finding your physical place in this world, little one, to have companionship is to have a home.”
When she left Orik’s territories, the guardian left with newfound passion. On her way back to her clan in the Windswept Plateau, she found a comforting place amongst the Shadowbinder’s lands to take refuge once more. She felt in her heart that this was where she would make her physical home, amongst the glowing mushrooms and tricks of light. It reminded her of the darkness she’d faced and overcome when missing Shadowstone and it helped her to remain strong.
In arriving to the lands of Wind, Veridian found Shadowstone waiting for her return. In the time she’d been gone, he had taken up the role of mage and was helping to protect the clan in order to distract himself from missing the guardian, who he’d come to discover, he had immense feelings for.
The two eventually made their way back to the Tangled Wood and started their clan together, with the help of Orik and the Gladepool Nurturers, who provided a small gift of supplies, funding and food.
I don't use this account! There are a few of my old dragons holding here, but that's it.
