A clan of outcasts led by Zhaori, exiled whelp of the draconic god-queen of a desert land in an alternate reality. The clan is dedicated to the secrecy and protection of its variegated members, all of whom have no other home to return to - whether it be because of a simple difference of opinion with one's birthclan, a need to flee from a harmful family dynamic, or due to past indiscretions that others have seen as less than desirable traits in a clanmate.

The law of the lair is simple: judge not, protect thy clanmates in body and spirit, and never reveal anything regarding their former lives to an outsider without express permission; otherwise, do as thou wilt. Offenders are mercilessly dealt with by the clan's progenitor, tending to disappear even more thoroughly than they had already vanished from their old lives; any diplomatic issues caused by the rule-breaker are swiftly smoothed over with healthy application of bribery and purchasing of appearance-altering spells for members whose privacy has been violated.

Other clans - both within the Shadow Flight and without - are kept at careful distance, and are mostly dealt with by individuals who have changed so dramatically from who they once were that there is no chance of recognition by a chance meeting. There is no ban on seeking the company of dragons from other clans if an individual should so desire, but most do not find the risk of being found out worth the change in scenery for very long.
