The Baneful Sanctuary

Tucked deep in Abiding Boneyard is a small hole in the ground, hidden underneath the skull of a great beast which died hundreds of years ago. For several generations, this hole was home to many dragons until a great calling brought most of them to the services of the Plaguebringer and the remainder, led by the eldest resident Gabriel and the matriarch Valence, to rest in the deepest tunnel in the networks.

Nearly three years later, the Banescales Reise, Sehnsucht, and Rosenrot took refuge within the cavern system. Believing it to be unoccupied, they began to make a temporary shelter there. However, they inadvertently woke the matriarch Valence, who took her most trusted and powerful companions to investigate. Upon hearing the story of the Banescales, Valence encouraged the three to form a small community within their cave and start to pull together the new beginnings of a culture, rebuilding from the ground up.

Rosenrot and his sister Sehnsucht have become the leaders of a small, motley assortment of Banescales. Their tribe is small, but what was once meant to be a temporary shelter has become a rapidly growing community. Valence and her team of warriors have been carefully guiding the Banescales, although one day the remaining original dragons will either return to hibernation or leave the cavern themselves to go and serve the Plaguebringer.
