A towering cliff stands strong against the tests of time as the distant sounds of the ocean eco faintly through the mid-day air. Sporadic sprouts of lush vegetation grow in the crevices of the mighty face, trailing down to a wide cavern entrance. Wind flight lanterns sway peacefully in the gentle breeze from the roots emerging from the rock, creating an oddly intricate doorway. Through this gateway, you notice a short, brightly painted hallway and continue on until you inevitably come to set of wide spiraling stairs. The wind lanterns light as you make your decent town the stone, root and soil steps and extinguish as you pass. You notice the permanent light in the extended cave systems below and find that chattering dragons could be heard. Reaching the bottom of the stairs holds the marvelous sight of the expansive common room: slabs of flat stone fitted together into a chaotic mosaic, sturdy roots from a particular willow run through the system like veins, painted designs and colorful lanterns line the walls and the roots themselves, and dragons of all species and all walks of life coming and going through the many entrances to other parts of the cave, sometimes stopping to chat with another clan mate. You stand at the base of the stairs, drinking in the sights and sounds of the place before a guardian wearing gossamer wing silks catches your attention. He smiles and says in an echoing, confident voice “Welcome to the Rootbound Cavern”.
