The Word that can be spoken is not the eternal Word.

Guardian leader Jaya and her band spin a nomadic existence in the labyrinthine skeletons of Fishspine Reef. Driven by curiosity and a need to understand the myriad mysteries of their world, if only for their own satisfaction, the dragons of Clan Logos hone themselves to mental and physical keenness through battle and observation. They move fluidly, sometimes with and sometimes against the endless tides, toward the deepest and most mysterious places of the Sea of a Thousand Currents: Leviathan Trench and the Spiral Keep.

Clarity of vision is the binding force of Logos. Its dragons vary greatly in desire and deed, but all of them share Jaya's determination to understand the secrets of all the great mysteries. By day, they hunt and battle the host of creatures that infest the ancient, salt-crusted battleground of their underwater home. They explore everything in their path, for although they have a goal, they are unhindered by haste and beset by curiosity. By night, they gather within a cradle of bone or coral, make a shelter of their bodies, and eat a communal meal. They talk late into the submarine night, sharing revelations and visions and planning for the next day's adventures.

True to their kind, they share their discoveries and predictions with no outsiders, as they believe that the absolute truths they uncover cannot be voiced without loss of integrity.

Ah! Yes, Joan Manuel Serrat turned the poem into a song as a tribute to Machado. It's a pretty old song (1969), but I find it absolutely beautiful, and the history behind the lyrics make it all the better.
