The Cryptic Ruins
At first, there was only darkness. The colours had long faded… For they had all been devoured by the monsters that haunted the void. The felicitous clanging and roar of a once burning fire had been subsumed by the inertia of a long ashy winter. No longer did the old dragons convene.
Somehow, a young hatchling had found refuge in the ruins of the old lair. He had scavenged a few treats from the bounty of the forest, and now had sought shelter from the pounding snow. Slowly, colour seemed to return in swirls and swaths.
Without a village, a young hatchling could not expect to learn much. But then, he stumbled upon a slumbering elder dragon, deep within the ruins of Lair Ceph.
After eons I hath returned…
