~The Fundamentals~

Existence is a dichotomy, an endless strain of contradictions, for life cannot exist without death, change without stagnation, creation without destruction. But magic is it's own dichotomy, for magic is the energy in everything that lives, yet the energy in all that has died, the energy that causes change, yet the energy that quells it, the energy that drives those to create, yet the energy that drives those to destroy. It is the energy that drives the realm; it is the primordial, the origin, the source.

That was the philosophy that each Ileian adhered to. For them, magic was what they worshiped as it was the divine force that created the realm. Yet, it was also the lifeforce within each and every thing. living and non living. To an Ileian, this would mean that everyone and everything is divine in itself, simply for existing.

Dragons of all races and flights held to this religion as those who practiced it were enthralled by the peaceful and carefree lifestyle it encouraged, and appreciated the sense of self empowerment its messages taught. While each flight and even breed of dragon had founded different sects of the religion, all could be connected by the same eight core beliefs known as the Magesto.

I - Magic is the core force that drives this universe. Each living being has a soul, manifested and given consciousness by magic as magic is the force that creates all living and non-living things.
II- Each flight has a different yet equal connection to magic, none is more important or invaluable than another. Each has a role to play in the balance and natural order of the universe.
III- There is no right or wrong way to worship and practice magic, one's craft is their own just as one's path is their own.
IV- One's body and soul is a gift from magic, inviable and subject to one's own will and one's own will alone. To infringe on that is to defy magic itself, thus defying the natural order of the universe.
V- One should strive to live by one's best scientific understanding, striving to never skew facts to one's own personal gain.
VI- There is perfection in imperfection, things are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should make an effort to rectify it.
VII- Modesty and humility should be encouraged. Ileians should respect and acknowledge all trains of thought, even if they do not align with one's own. because of this, proselytization is to be discouraged.
VIII- The Magesto is to inspire. The pursuit of knowledge, honor, truth, and justice should be upheld by everyone who calls themself an Ileian.

These sacred tenants were the basis of the Ileian religion and were held to the highest degree. The expectation for each Ileian was to adhere to these eight fundamental rules, provided by the Magesto.

They really are! I've never gotten a hatchling letter before and I got very excited when I opened up my inbox! I don't roleplay as much as I used to as I do mostly solo writing, but it would be fun! You have an interesting clan, it seems!
