Clan Info
Machineclan/Clan of the Mystery Machine.
(Lore clan, hatchling letters hoarded and replied to, happy to breed dragons for free if you want them for lore reasons. Will not breed unbred dragons.)

It might take a while to load; there are multiple tabs.
Once and sometimes still known as Cathgear Clan, the now eponymous mystery machine has grown to gargantuan proportions. It dominates every part of the lair, with pipes and wires through holes bored through rock, drapes across expanses of desert, and generally exists to consume materials. It's probably only fitting that it's taken over the name of the clan by now.
What does it do? Why has it been faithfully dragged across half the desert as the clan moves closer and closer to Tempest Spire? Why does the lair keep relocating, and is it related to this growing abomination of tech and magic?
No one knows.
Maybe nothing. Maybe it'll shield the clan's land forever from attack. Maybe it'll end the world. Maybe it'll be an eternal energy source. Maybe it'll heal anything that gets near it, or remove any need for hunger, or kill anything that gets near it. Maybe it'll short itself out and stop working, or explode.
For now, most dragons ACTUALLY use it to power reading lights, various machinery, provide heat on cold desert nights and air conditioning during the day, or impress friends with wild tales of what it "really" is supposed to do. Makes for a good tourist attraction, though.
Tyrant calls the clan the Research and Development Laboratories. No one else does.
We can confirm one thing though: now that it's at the Tempest Spire, nothing bad happened. Well. Nothing worse than the usual. So that's good, probably.

"What does the Machine do?"
Good question. By now, a lot of things from lighting to running an assembly line, but there's no telling what its primary function was or is.
"Why the name change?"
Because the Machine has taken over their lives.
"Who started building the Machine?"
Tyrant claims it was her. In truth, their first lair ended up placed over a ruined artifact left over from a previous lair. She set about to repair it, and it got out of hand.
