Clan Info
This clan is crumbling, dear. It worries me...
Welcome to the Wildwoods. Godspeed.
LORE It started out simple enough. The Wildwoods clan had very humble beginnings. A young tundra, having been separated from his native clan, had founded a new one from the misfits and orphans and so forth who had joined him moreso out of necessity than kinship or even friendship. It was stable, sure, but it was obvious to those not in denial that it was soon to fall apart. On the other side of Sornieth, another young dragon, this time a skydancer, had had to escape the ruins of his old home after a brief yet bloody conflict with a rival clan had left his in tatters. This had led to him leading a nomadic lifestyle- one out of necessity more than anything, given the fact that he had nowhere to turn to and truly call "home" anymore- and, much like the above, gathered a group of dragons who tagged along with him simply to have a place to call home. Fortunately, this seemed to be a much stronger clan than that of Bluebell's, and though the clan was small, it had a bit of a reputation as being open to help any and all travelers they encountered along their travels across the country. However, all good things must come to an end, and after a vicious Beastclan attack, it was obvious that the clan needed a safe and secure place to settle down. Thus, they ended up in the Viridian Labyrinth, and, by chance, came across the other clan. Upon seeing the imminent collapse of it, along with a desire to stay in the spot they had encountered, Zinnia proposed a merge between the two clans, an offer which an overwhelmed Bluebell readily accepted. Thus began an era of relative prosperity among the newly founded clan. New dragons joined by the day for one reason or another, creating a mix of dragons from all walks of life that somehow managed to coexist despite their differences. However, as stated before, all good things must come to an end. An old, disgruntled imperial had joined the clan, having been overthrown from his previous position as powerful clan leader due to rampant tyranny and blatant disregard for basic decency. However, in all his goodwill towards his fellow dragon, Zinnia had allowed him to take refuge, believing that Cumulus could only change for the better were he treated with compassion rather than contempt. However, change for the better he did not, for in his still power-hungry state of mind, he had grown tired of what he had deemed to be a lowly job as a scavenger. Thus, he hatched a plan to turn Zinnia's people against him, using his powers of manipulation to instead paint himself as the kind, fair leader the dragons of the clan needed. And, despite Zinnia's best efforts, the resistance is gaining traction. Quickly. As a result, a counter-resistance has formed, and tensions between the two factions are rising, which has led to growing fears that a civil war may break out and divide the clan further into two than it already is. Pair that along with the leader of a Gladeskeeper-oriented cult gaining popularity, more and more people dying by the day (on both sides no less) due to the efforts of a skilled and clearly well-paid assassin, a chaotic shapeshifter sporadically causing havoc and seemingly completely disregarding any consequences on anybody's behalf, and a couple thieves spending more time lining their pockets than trying to help their clan and, honey, you've got a big storm comin'. |
The Wildwoods
As already explained, a large clan formed by all sorts of misfits. Technically called the Clan of the Wild Wood's Blessing, but most just call it the Wildwoods for short, and also because it sounds better. Pretty friendly to any outsiders, and can serve as a dragon's last chance at redemption from whatever sins they may have committed in their past. Most definitely on the verge of collapse. |
Sun's Song
A large, sprawling clan that could, in some cases, be considered more of a kingdom than anything before its downfall. Previously headed by Cumulus, it experienced a rapid downhill tumble as its people finally tired of his tyrannical reign and overthrew him in a long, violent civil war. Though they succeeded, none of the others were able to successfully take charge of the clan, and it eventually crumbled into as many tiny pieces as the ruins in which the few remnants of it now lay. |
FACTIONS
FACTION 1
A resistance against the current leaders led by Cumulus in his bid for a return to power. Though they are few in number, what dragons there are are quite powerful and, together, a force to be reckoned with. A serious threat to the wellbeing of the overall clan and, should they succeed and Cumulus is recrowned a king, the entirety of the Viridian Labyrinth.

FACTION 2
A sort of counter resistance defending Zinnia's place as leader. Consists of the majority of the clan, though not all have the clan's best interest in mind, and would readily leave to the other side for one reason or another, if not abandoning the entire conflict outright like several already have. Able to keep Cumulus' forces down for now, but any significant blow to their numbers could very well lead to their failure regardless of how much support they have.

FACTION 3
Not necessarily representative of any side of the conflict, with members on each side, but rather a separate entity entirely. In short, it's a cult dedicated to the Gladeskeeper and all things nature, deeming modern civilization to be impure and unhealthy for the spirit. They're dedicated to building the power of the Nature flight and the Gladeskeeper through various rituals, which they believe will eventually allow them to completely destroy current society and all of it's achievements, regressing it back to what they deem to be a pure, primitive state. Though their beliefs could most certainly be considered malevolent, most members are still friendly enough- that is, unless you happen to be associated with the Plague or Lightening flights- though, of course, there are ways you can repent for all your sins, whether they're heritage-related or not. And, of course, everybody else in this clan is absolutely chock full of sin anyway- it's only natural for them to go around and cleanse everybody they can see to save them from the tree mother's wrath. There's just simply no guarantee you'll survive it.

ABOUT ME
hewwo!! i usually go by sand online, my real name is unfortunately redacted. this is mainly a lore lair, though i don't really ever actually write the lore oops. feel free to strike up a conversation with me if you'd like, though given my degree of social ineptitude i can't guarantee i'll react like an actual human being. i feel like i should also state that this is NOT an exalting lair, so if i buy a bab from you and it's not named for a while, don't worry! i just suck at names sometimes. if you see a dragon in my lair without a familiar, feel free to make an offer!
