~Welcome to Notmind~
(Lore written following Isi as the main character.)
The sands of time and waters of will work in your favor. Wake up. The soft voice rose above the buzzing of newborn thoughts as Isi was born into existence. She yawned as the rocky shell of her egg fell around her. Sitting up, she yawned one more time as she tried to open her eyes. The newborn world of magic was still being formed by the first four, The Earthshaker, The Windsinger, The Flamecaller, & The Tidelord. Isi spread her small wings, much smaller than the other great Wyrms that were coming into existence, and gently lept into the wind. It carried her high, and she looked over the land.
Thousands of numbers were forming in front of her, she could see them above the head of every living thing, from the greatest dragon, to the cutest cumulus seal. Looking above her own head, she found that she herself had no numbers. This was very disconcerting, as even the world itself had a large number. She wondered for a long time what the numbers could mean, they declined at different paces, some fast, others barely moving, yet they all counted down, never up.
Isi let the wind guide her as she looked over the forming numbers, making her way towards the colossal number above Sornieth. When she made it to the number she reached out to touch it, startled when her hand phased through it. She looked at it as it counted down. It counted down slowly, not by one number at a time though. No, it counted down one, then two, then one, then two, then one, then three, then one, then two, and so on.
She watched it for hours, the number barely phased by the time. Why does it count down? What is it, and why don't I have one? She thought to herself. She broke from her daze, returning to the ground in search of answers. She followed many dragons and other creatures around silently for many years, wondering what the declining numbers could mean.
Only by following a small deer with a particularly low number did she find out what they meant. Invisible little Isi was hard to notice, because of her size and how introverted she was. She watched the deer live it's life, never interfering, just observing. Soon the deer had only 3000 numbers left, still rapidly declining. Looking alive, Isi readied herself to learn as she followed the deer quietly. The number at last reached zero just as a large, and quite terrifying ridgeback soared down and slaughtered the poor deer before eating it moments later. These numbers are lifelines... She thought to herself as she watched the Ridgeback eat.
