if you ever find yourself wandering, lost and alone and in need of guidance, unsure of what your purpose is or if there is even a point in finding one in the first place, fear not! for all you have to do is abandon your life without meaning and follow the trail less traveled, stalking off into the night.

whispers from strangers throughout your journey warn of a strange phenomenon. it sounds silly and superstitious, so you might not think twice of it. in hushed tones, they speak of a series of steps to be visited by a strange dragon who will fulfill any wish one might have:

mark one's forehead with red in the symbol of an X
face one's reflection in a river stream
then chant "ava, save me" thrice

only a child would be fooled by such a rumor, no? yet with nothing else to lose, and a bit of burning liquid courage, you try it out. for the marking, you crush some fat jewel beetles, and for the river, you substitute a small puddle made by the evening rain. before you even open your mouth, you burn with the shame of realization: this must be rock bottom. this must be what it is like to be a dragon born without wings. surely things cannot get worse than this.

you say, "ava, save me."
nothing happens.
you scoff, and repeat, louder and angrier,
"ava, save me."
your reflection laughs at you.

you slam your claws down into the puddle, ripples warping your image. figures that life couldn't be that easy. just as you rake your claws down, digging up the earth beneath your feet, the holes you've dug out start bleeding out crimson, dyeing the puddle red. the rain above you begins to mirror the damned color, and there is a sound that makes your scales poke out, as though one has scratched up each scale the wrong way. the sound, you realize, is laughter. not the mocking or derisive kind you are used to, but a gentle airy one.

it's coming from the puddle. your gaze is cast downwards once again, and the reflection is no longer yours. you startle backwards, and come face to face with the fae you thought you had hallucinated in the water's surface.

"i am ava, and i am here to save you."

now that the mood has been set, time to meet the human:

yeah that's right, the person who wanted to write an edgy cult lore back in 2017 when they first made their FR account on a whim for their childhood best friend is actually lame and likes kirby. what else would you expect? i have returned (semi-permanently, maybe) to FR because i feel like a) i could do my clan far more justice now and b) i have better taste and i think i deserve prettier dragons.

although i am keeping my lore shop + hatchery links up, i don't think i'll be revamping either of those any time soon. gone are the days of wasteful youth... i'm studying for a law + politics degree (yes, i talk too much, yes, i turn everything into an argument) and i'm doing so internationally so my timezone is all messed up.

idc about things like 1st gen n stuff. i just want shiny dragons.
