DAY ONE
They said I was born in the storm; that the storm was my mother. It sounds a little crazy, but it isn’t wrong. It’s the only mother I remember. Vitni and Ildris found me, clinging for dear life against the wash of water threatening to drag me under. I don’t remember the details too well. i just remember being scared - so scared. So sure that it was going to kill me, that I was going to go under the water and never come up again. I wouldn’t let go of the weight keeping me alive.

That was how they found the egg. I wouldn’t let go of it, so, when they pulled me out of the flood, it came with me. Vitni said that it was a sign; that it meant the clan was going to survive. He said that I was his luck, his ... his token, proof that we, all of us, were meant for something greater. That's what he said.

They'd already lost eleven when they found me. An imperial, Heidur, and her mate were the last two lost before Ildris pulled me from the waters. They were only the most recent. Before them, another pair, a spiral and a mirror, were claimed by the storm, and so many of the clan's children.

A few days ago, Vitni's hatchlings were caught in it. Ildris went after them, and Vitni followed. Then, there were only two. Two and me. That didn't last, though. Riln survived the loss of their nest. His mate did not.

Left with only me and the egg, he brought us here, to the farthest stores of the clan. We would be safe here, he told me. Too high for the storm to touch. There was food. Not much, but I am small. I don't need much. Even when the egg hatched, it looked to be stores enough, and diverse enough to sate a hatchling of any time, at least for a few days longer. He told me this, and then he left.

Hours passed with no sign of him, and I began to fear the storm had claimed him, too. That was when the egg began to shake. Another little fae. She's brighter than I, with warm eyes. She will be my sister, and it will be mine to keep her safe.

Resolved in that, I took myself to the rear of the lair to search, bringing her with me. I needed to know what we had here to live by, especially if Riln does not return.

I find myself surprised. Most of what I've found is so much detritus and the minimal trappings of necessity, but beneath a scrap of crimson cloth, I found the true child of the storm: some other sought shelter here for their young, as well. She's a pretty little thing, the mirror that I found, and she makes us three. My sisters and I.

And maybe, I still hope, Riln.

Events
-Exalted the last of the dragons, leaving only Illvidhri
-Hatched the earth egg obtained for the challenge (Morgunn)
-Found a lightning egg while gathering
    -Hatched the egg (Elding)
DAY TWO
We've delved into the stores in the lair here. It's enough for now, but Elding eats meat. There is little enough here to begin with, and what there is will not keep long. I fear for us.

Riln has not returned. I fear the worst. Stormcatcher watch over us.

Events
-obtained two storm seekers while gathering; sold one
DAY THREE
It's hard to believe that Elding is so young, so much larger than I as she is, but it is all too apparent in how she behaves. I don't know how I will be able to provide the care she needs; I'm not her mother, and I don't know how to be. Morgunn, I understand. She, at least, is like me. She speaks clearly, despite her youth. Poor Elding.

With no sign of Riln, yet, I fear I must accept the worst. I will have to go out and hunt for our food before much longer, and the storm still rages overhead. I am loathe to face it until Morgunn and Elding are old enough to care for themselves. I hope our stores last that long.

Events
    -none
DAY FOUR
Still no sign of Riln. I think I must accept his passing.

Events
    -none
TWO WEEKS LATER...
We are four, now, grown to a one and all of us capable. Riln never returned, and leadership of this questionable assembly has fallen to me. As I stand watch over my clan, I find myself pleased and wearied at the same time. We are strong. We would be dead at the hands of the storm that claimed the rest of the clan, were we not. We are skilled and loyal, and we have overcome.

We are also few. With only four of us, what chance to we have of ensuring the clan's survival? My greatest hope lies with Morgunn. Small she may be, but she is strong, and she has seen to ensuring the safety of our youngest member, Jorthin, since he came to us. The guardian is grown, now, no longer in need of her protection, but they have become close - very close. It is rare I see one without the other. It is my hope that they will be my promise of growth, will ensure the survival of my clan.

Stormcatcher knows, we need all the help we can get.

Events
    -See profile: Jorthin
ONE WEEK LATER...
Blessings! Jorthin and Morgunn are exhausted this morning, but there are now three small eggs nested in our lair. For the first time in a long time, I have hope.

Events
-Jorthin and Morgunn laid three eggs.
THE NEXT DAY...
In anticipation of our newcomers, I've instructed Elding to begin patrolling our borders. While out on patrol, Elding came upon an odd bundle of green fur. Hopeful that she had at last found some prey left alive in the wake of the storm that might be easy to catch, rather than requiring us risk our lives to ensure we all can eat, she stalked the bundle and moved in for the pounce. As she went rolling down the hill with her prize in hand, however, it quickly became apparent that this was no prey; no, this was a baby.

A few hours of confusion later, I decided that, unless the little tundra's parents could be found, he would stay with us. In the mean time, I have dubbed him Ajorthu and left him in Elding's care (being as I am far too small myself to care for him, and Morgunn and Jorthin are tending their first nest together and far too busy to do so themselves).
Events
    -Purchased the egg for October.

ONE WEEK LATER
Today has been extremely eventful. Jorthin and Morgunn have hatched their first nest, bringing three beautiful new babes into the world, but this is no kind land we claim, and I am sorry to say that two of them did not survive. The third, a diminutive fae they have dubbed Elsti, however, is whole and hale, a tiny red and white lump clinging to her father's back.

Leaving the parents to mourn and rejoice, I have gone out to do the clan's gathering today, and today has been a day of joy, indeed. My search of the ravaged lands has yielded a most wonderful (if sad) surprise: a small, abandoned nest. I brought the eggs - there were two - back to the lair to incubate.

It took a few hours, but both eggs have been incubated, and our tiny clan has nearly doubled in size. The tiny nest bore fruit in the form of two young fae, beautifully coloured and sweet, who seem rather attached to me, of all people.

Perhaps this is how I can be mother to our clan: by rearing those lostlings we find.

Events
-Jorthinn and Morgunn's nest hatches - only one survivor.
-Found two eggs while scavenging. Total unused breed change count: 3.
TWO DAYS LATER
This area seems rife with nests left parentless by the storms. We've come upon another egg during the daily scavenges. This time, a large one, it bore a muted guardian, whose presence adds another loyal sentinel to our clan. I have brought him into the fold with my other adoptive children. It is my devout hope that he can find happiness here.

Events
    -Found another egg.
    -Unused breed change count: 4
ONE WEEK LATER
It is frightening to consider how many families were rended in two by the madness that is our world in the aftermath of the storm. Yet another lostling came to us today, a bewildered, petite guardian of the sweetest violet hues. How many more will we find parentless and alone before the world rebuilds itself?

Events
    -Found another egg.
    -Unused breed change count: 5

Best of luck with the challenge. There's no way I could go through with it unless I went with the version that cleared out a few pages. I've put too much work into my lair...especially the Gen1 Imperials.
