Protogenoi Clan Lore

The clan’s origins stretch back across the map of Sornieth, to the Sunbeam Ruins, where Ouranos and Gaea were born and raised in the same clan of a greater size.

The clan’s belief was that dragons whose scales shining with the light of the sun were pure light dragons, blessed by the Lightweaver herself. However, this belief had a second side; the clan similarly believed that if the scales of a dragon were not on the lighter side of the spectrum it meant that the Lightweaver had shunned the drake. This created a vastly different social class between “The Blessed” and “The Cursed,” as the clan called them. Interaction between the two classes was not strained however, as the Blessed Ones were scholars and mages, collecting lore and recording the nature of the world. On the other side, the Cursed Ones were assassins and warriors, lurking in the shadows of the trees to guard and protect the rest of the clan.

Ouranos was born the son of the clan’s head scholar, while Gaea was born of a union between an unknown Blessed and a common Cursed. This strange union resulted in her body’s bright golden scales being contrasted by dark, pitch-black scales coating her legs and spine. This turn of events caused the clan to avoid her, not knowing how to treat a combination of the vastly different classes.

Ouranos was attracted to her, finding her unique appearance to be a breath of fresh air in the organized structure of the clan’s lives, he approached her often to spend as much time as he could with her. This resulted in the two becoming inseparably close, much to the dislike of the scholars.

The scholars' constant scorn tired Ouranos and Gaea. To the dismay of his father Ouranos and Gaea left the clan behind, they set out to find their own home to reside in. A home far beyond the reaches of the Lightweaver. Among their travels they came across the sun-scorched desert of Dragonhome, the large open areas broken by monuments and caverns attracted the two and they settled to make their home there.
Pledging their devotion to the Earthshaker, they were able to create a home there, their eyes dimming to match the shades of brown around them as a result of their faith in their new deity.
