DraconianJaybird's Clan
Clan Info
At the front of the clan's lair, the common dragons of the clan nest, usually with their mates. These dragons are those who were born into this clan or came to it by choice, and loyally serve the members of the Court as hunters, gatherers, scavengers, and other such positions.
At the very front of this chamber, nearest to the entrance, a Ridgeback dragoness by the name of Gravewatcher sits with her mate, a Ridgeback named Darkshine, guarding the entrance from unwelcome visitors. While Darkshine is one for decent conversation and usually prefers to gently inform the occasional wanderer or exploring hatchling that they need to leave, Gravewatcher is notorious for ambushing first and asking questions later- luckily enough, the two are rarely apart, so the odds of a visitor losing their wings are very low if they come peacefully.
In the middle of the clan's lair is a cavern that is only partially submerged. Here, the young hatchlings play and reside under the watchful and protective eyes of those closest to the cave mouth. All the clan's hatchlings, whether their parents are average clan members or members of the Court, stay here, promoting friendships and good relations between all members. In this chamber, a Spiral Dragoness called Icebreeze can be found monitoring and taking care of the clan's hatchlings, all with a chipper smile and motherly attitude- but don't let this fool you- if she believes that anyone poses a threat to the young ones, she wouldn't hesitate to rip them into small pieces with her claws alone.
In the deepest cavern nest the members of the Court. The walls here have been decorated with gleaming shells and polished crystals that capture the light that shines in from small holes that let in sunlight in the ceiling. In the rear, a jagged cavern opening stuffed full of the clan's hoard can be seen, as well as a much deeper cavern beside it.
At the front of this cave can be found two Skydancers- Brightsong and Darkcloud These two dragons serve as guards for the Court's Chambers, keeping out intruders and curious guests.
In the center of the vast cavern sits a single dragon. Blacktide, a great dark Guardian, sits perched on a large spiral shell. He is the king of the court, and although he is young, he leads with compassion and virtue.
Sitting closest to the door is a dark Guardian dragoness by the name of Panthercloud. Panthercloud is a fiery-tempered Guardian who is in charge of ensuring the young dragons who graduate from the hatchling caverns find themselves a comfortable place to nest and keep themselves out of trouble. Panthercloud stands as the Head Guard in the clan and wears her title with pride.
In the very back of the chamber, a Fae dragon by the name of Opalglow minds the clan's hoard, keeping careful count of all that they own. Still further back, a Guardian by the name of Northlight keeps watch of the vault. No dragons besides the Clan's leaders and herself go into the vault and return unscathed, and none have ever come out with a single coin from the vault.
Though Blacktide will insist to guests and newcomers that the Court's chambers are as deep as the lair goes, older members and Court dragons know this to be false. Inside the vault that Northlight guards, a spiraling tunnel can be found. If one were to follow this tunnel, they would find themselves in the lair of Boneclaw, a Spiral dragon who serves as the clan's mystic.
Boneclaw is not a cruel dragon at heart, but his constant muttering and laughing to himself often unsettles his clanmates. Boneclaw was not born a member of the Water Flight- rather, he hatched in the domain of the Plaguebringer. Despite this, Boneclaw has made his place in the clan by acting as a link between the court leaders and the Tidelord, using prayer and rituals to let his leaders seek the Tidelord's guidance in times of need. Boneclaw has resided in this clan since the First Reign- no one can say for sure how old he truly is. The Spiral is unpredictable at best if his rituals are interrupted, often leading to violent outbursts...
Fortunately, if Boneclaw is busy, his apprentice would be glad to see any visitors and would happily try to sort out their needs. Deepsong, a Pearlcatcher, was once bitter about her appointed position, as she would much rather have been a member of the guard. Now that some time has passed, she has found that studying under the clan's mystic has let her indulge her love for alchemy in a way that aids her clan and gives Boneclaw a successor.
