The snow for miles around is disturbed and gouged with the restless feet of those not yet settled in these parts. Befuddled dragons wander hither and yon, trying their best to carve out a place in a cold landscape they don't quite understand yet.
You can hear a strange humming, and high on a sloping crag you catch sight of an arcing domed forcefield that surrounds a grove of fruit trees. The startling green of the trees gives many a dragon pause, for it is at odds with the white that swirls in every direction. This once flourishing clan that had nestled close to the heart of their beloved mother goddess beneath her boughs now finds itself scattered to the winds like so many errant flakes of snow.
