While you were scrolling through YouTube, a video caught your eye. Its thumbnail contained a low-quality image of a ‘crewmate’ from the game Among Us, poorly plastered onto the screen of a phone using an app that was most likely Photoshop. The phone was surrounded by stock images of blood. You look down to the title of the video and read it out loud. “Calling Among Us 3AM Challenge (GONE WRONG) (POLICE CALLED) (HAUNTED APP) (RED IMPOSTOR CAME TO MY HOUSE!!)”. You let out an audible chuckle after reading this and reach for your phone. You scroll madly through your contacts. Eventually, you come across your friend. You send him a few texts about the video, and ask him to come over.
You walk into the kitchen and made some popcorn while waiting for your friend to walk inside. He eventually does. You greet him and walk over to the computer, opening the video. It starts with a loud intro. His voice was already giving you a headache. He loudly said something with his irritating voice. “Like and subscribe or YOU will be killed by the impostor!”. You and your friend obviously ignored his half-witted claim and continued watching the ridiculous recording.
Midway through the video, there was a flash storm. The power went out. You get up and walk towards your bedroom, before stepping on something sharp. You lift your foot, and in the very dim light, you see a shard of glass was embedded in its sole. You scream and turn your head to the window the moonlight was peering through.
It had been shattered.
You let out a scream, staring at the glass you just managed to catch sign of. It was strewn all over the floor. You take the piece of glass out of your foot, and bolt to the bedroom, leaving a trail of blood. You bolt into the bedroom, and frantically search for the flashlight. It was nowhere to be seen. You panic...
And hear footsteps approaching your room. You look for somewhere to hide, your heart filled with fear.
There was nowhere to hide. You scream. This was a fatal mistake. Something large and red quickly bolts into the room, holding a knife.
It was the impostor.
