Clan Info
Dulosis and Duress
The Clan of the Wretch Queen
This parasitic clan is only loosely held together, thanks to a mutual awareness of survival depending on teamwork. Battles are frequently held to establish dominance, with members potentially shifting multiple ranks in a single day. They are fighters first and foremost, bred to survive the contagions of their homeland, though not unwarped by it.
They rely almost exclusively on the brood of other clans for day-to-day survival. While capable of feeding themselves and tending to hatchlings, they much prefer to be out raiding, scavenging, and proving their loyalty to the Plaguebringer. To this end they frequently kidnap the young of other clans, raising them under their dogma of might makes right. These kidnapped hatchlings are usually left the more mundane tasks of rearing young, feeding and grooming the returning warriors, and tending to the lair. Should the lair come under attack while the warriors are gone the captives are expected to defend it with their life, and those who show exceptional constitution are frequently taken out on raids as well (sometimes against their own home clan).
Should a lost dragon or hatchling show promise enough, Ceirrane and Azaria will take it under their own personal wing to train and exalt in service to the Plaguebringer.
Rarely, dragons might roost with them for training, or in search of some lost token in The Scarred Wasteland (the clan's constant movement has made them excellent guides). They entertain guests so long as loyalty and respect is shown, in the form of cooperative hunting, a promise to protect the lair should it come under attack, and tending to young. Guests are not trusted on raids. It is not unheard of for these guests to go mad in the far off domain, and once corrupt enough assimilate into the clan.
While some of the tundras of the clan do make an effort to build up the lair, the clan is much more likely to keep an eye out for abandoned lairs or those of dying clans, and claim them instead. They prefer minimal decorations, though a recent addition is a rabid fan of home décor (in the form of animal carcasses, bloody murals and strangely hewn furniture, of course). Many rituals and traditions are adhered to, mostly for the sake of the Wretch Queen herself, Drodai.
