When I came to my senses, the only thing I knew that I got my life from the Shadowbinder, and my name is Ashmore. I born to be a flower, so I couldn't see anything – however I could sense the world around me. Not much though, only the small glade I was in. My surroundings were covered with thorny vines, only a small ray of moonlight could reach me. It took time for me to realize, but there was some kind of strange power within me. I tried to use it, or at least figure out what kind of power it is, but I failed to detect anything about it. My disappointment grew bigger and bigger with time.
„No way! The Shadowbinder gave me blessed abilities, but I'm not be able to use it...” These kind of thoughts circulated in my mind all the time. Soon, loneliness became my companion – I couldn't communicate neither with the vine-plants, nor any kind of animal that came around me. Their minds just simply weren't advanced enough. I prayed for the Shadowbinder all day and night, to send me someone who can blow away my eternal loneliness...
As time went on, my hope started to fade. I was just about to give up on my dreams and put up with destiny, when I sensed unknown beings not so far away. For a moment I became frightened – what if they're no good guys? However, my fear disappeared as soon as they came closer. I was sure, that they were intelligent beings! The two of them stopped right in front of me.
„You're not just any kind of flower are you? I think we're searching for you.” - One of them spoke to me, and if I wouldn't be a mere plant, I would surely cry from joy.
„You're right, I'm one of the children of the Shadowbinder. I'm sure she heared my wish and sent the two of you here!”
They introduced themselves: the one speaking were Kira, and the other were Rodder. Since I didn't know anything about the outside world or about them, they told me everything they knew. I'm in the land of Sornieth, a place where dragons live. Kira is a Fae and Rodder is a Guardian, but there are lot more breeds of dragons. They told me about the deities, the Tangled Wood, and the Foxfire Bramble. They were the Shadowbinder's children, just like me. While they were speaking, the strange power grew bigger in me. I focused on them, and then I felt an incredible energy connecting me with Kira and Rodder. Kira suddenly stopped, and gave me a glance.
„What was that?”
„Maybe... it's the ability I got from the Shadowbinder? Hurry, try to do something!” - I replied, and became extremely excited.
„I think I feel something.” - Rodder said, and raised his right hand. I could feel him focusing on it, and then – Black Flames enveloped his hand! He twitched from surprise, and the flames went out. It didn't burn him.
„What...?!” - He was speechless and looked at me, waiting for an explanation.
„I can't beleive it! I can give you the power to use Black Flames!” - I was shocked and happy at the same time – finally, I knew what to do with my blessing!
New dragons came, and we grew into a Clan, a big family. I gave my blessing to every single one of them, and we were be able to figure out more and more about the Black Flames. I was grateful to the Shadowbinder, that I recieved a wonderful family from her, and I wasn't lonely anymore. I hope I'll recieve an own body someday. I really want to try flying...
