The Orchid Clan was founded by Skaldi and his late friend, Mei, as a haven for dragons wanting a home regardless of flight allegiance. Skaldi and his partner, Archimedes, ran the keep for a while, raising hatchlings and watching them go off into the world to seek their own fortunes. They still seek to house and raise dragons, but that left the keep with a distinct lack of official leadership. Izanami, an anthropologist and scholar, joined the keep and swiftly proved herself a capable organizer and leader.
