Children of the witch and the mechanic are taught how to control the Plague magic that is highly saturated in their bones from birth; some hatchlings have almost unstable concentrations of magic while others had all of theirs drained in the shell. The effects are always unpredictable. Regardless, their parents try to give them as full of a life as possible, nurturing and loving each of their children as best as they can.
Of course, love and nurture won't always take.

In the case of Lilium and their siblings, it does not. Of all the nests their parents have reared and loved together, this nest is the only one they've refused to acknowledge relation to, and for very good reason.
The second being the second-youngest, Lilium themself. As a hatchling, Lilium adored play-fighting with their siblings, though they occasionally went little too far. Most dragons of their birth clan lamented the fact that they'd been born without magic but thought that they would make a fine warrior; it would have been much better for Sorineth if they'd been wrong. Not that they could be blamed, of course. Who knew that that sweet little hatchling would turn out to be a feared, ruthless leader of a band of raiders? Lilium hasn't a single drop of magic in their bones, and they don't care one bit. With no past to care about, all that they live for now is the glorious future. | ____________ |
