Zorya
The Seeker
27202.png
lightningvs1.png Tucked in the very back of the Galestorm Flyer's lair is a large cave, supported by thick iron pillars but lacking the usual wall carvings that decorated the main lair. There are three large, simplistic looking doors, each with a name carved neatly into it. Before you have a chance to inspect them, a huge gaoler emerges from one, yawing. She shakes her shaggy purple coat, the icy spikes on her side clinking together as her many eyes dart furiously around the room.
"Hey there, would love to stay and chat but not really, I have a job to do. If you want to talk to someone, I'd suggest Serket."
Without a second glance, the gaoler leaves, her large tail swishing behind her. Glancing at the door she exited from, it appears her name is Zorya.

Origins
lightningv2.png
Dear reader, once again I have to interrupt my typical writing and expositive style of writing at the request of the dragons in my clan. Please enjoy Zorya's episodic encounter of her life. For once I give my wrists a break ~Midnight
Though my birth was a suprisingly dramatic event, I will not speak of my childhood; it is sufficient to say I was not respected. With far too many eyes, far too few friends, and no order, I lacked the respect of clanmates. Therefore, I will speak only of the moment I got my order and beyond.

Nazymnik 25 (Nov. 25th)- Seeking a Seeker
"You don't get to chose your Order--" A beat of silence, and my heart sinks, "--But I think you will thrive as a seeker." I stand before a huge Gaoler, their horns are ragged and cracked and they look truly ancient; I hardly feel older than a hatchling before him. Yet I am here, dipping my head to accept the simplistic string necklace with a small carved stone that marked me as a seeker. It clinks against my icy shards and chimes gently as I back away. My eyes flick back and forth, and I can still see the shadows lurk at the edges of my vision--now the chase is on. It wouldn't be long before I would be running the sands of the Shifting Expanse, hunting for remains of the Shade.

Hodownik 11 (Dec. 11th)- Hessdalen
Unfortunately, I was overzealous with my previous hope to start seeking Shade-touched dragons; my first mission was a failure to the extreme. I overestimated my strength and underestimated my enemies, leaving me wounded and exhausted in the desert with no allies in sight. I only survived by the graces of the Stormcatcher and a passing healer, though I was left stuck recovering for several weeks. That's when I was greeted by Hessdalen--he slunk into my temporary home silently, and it frankly took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize he was there. Still exhausted, I don't remember much of what he said to me, though he said little in the first place. I do remember his final words; "I'll teach you to run properly soon, don't be late. I believe you will be an excellent seeker." Next week, I will begin to train with Hessdalen--as strange was he is, his skill is incredible.

Mały Róžk 19 (Feb. 19th)- Sarruma and Serket
Though the training with Hessdalen has been time consuming and exhausting, it has also been thoroughly enlightening and I dare say I've greatly improved my skills as a seeker. I've begun to take a few Seeker jobs on my own, most of which were my own efforts and not at the word of the other Orders. However, as I lounged around my simplistic home this morning, two Gaolers entered--Sarruma the Keeper, Serket the Overseer--and requested my assistance in giving them wards to guard. I declined--it was my day off, I wanted to rest--but I can't say they didn't peak my interest. No other Gaoler has willingly approached me frankly, and the thought of an ally in our world is... enticing. Regardless, I stay out of others business, I'll resume my missions at another time.

Róžownik 7 (May 7th)- A Trio at Last
I lied. I absolutely totally lied. It is midnight, I have not slept in three days, and I may or may not have somehow gotten two whole mates. I am not sure what happened, but in truth I don't particularly care. Sarruma and Serket were apparently mates long before they met me, but the fact that they would care about me enjoy my company value me welcome me to their family... I find it stirring. I will gladly enjoy my time with them, particularly as we have officially joined forces. As a Seeker, I am now stalking the lands in search of shade touched creatures, while Sarruma and Serket maintain their prison that I fill. I believe we will make quite the team, both in jobs and out.
~A side note: I spoke to Hessdalen about this trio, both as a working partnership and relationship. I think that's the first time I've truly seen him grin and become visibly excited.

Wulki Róžk 28 (Jan. 28th)- Darkness On the Horizon
Working with Sarruma and Serket has been quite the interesting endeavor. Sarruma is a skilled warrior and has quite the protective nature, he has saved my hide several times. Serket is more often "flopping around like a dying fish" according to Sarruma, but I find her playful nature enjoyable outside of work. However, I am excited to say there is a new scent on the horizon--shadows have been lurking and forming at the edges of my vision, and I intend to track it to the ends of this land. We will leave in the morning; I will track ahead while Sarruma and Serket follow as close as they can, as they both want to help with the capture and be prepared to defend me just in case. I hope I will not require their assistance

Nalětnik 29 (March 29th)- The Dark Queen
This will likely be the last entry in my journal for a while--my paws are aching, my ears are ringing, and half my eyes have had to be bandaged shut for the time being. We discovered the shade touched being--a huge Ridgeback by the name of Geth located in the depths of the Shifting Expanse--but we were under-prepared. Though she is locked away in a magically enforced prison in the Galestorm Flyers, she was not sealed away as a Gaoler would like and managed to escape. We Gaolers focus more on physical combat, so while all three of us launched ourselves into the battle with little hesitation and the Galestorm Flyers joined the fight as well, there was still damage. Repairs on the lair are underway, their healer Serasorth is tending to the wounded, and Serket is managing defenses in regards to Geth. Sarruma has spoken with their King and Queen, Nantis and Elspeth, and until further notice, we will reside here and help guard Geth. Farewell for now.

Personality
As Zorya does not wish to comment on her own personality, I have returned to complete her profile. ~Midnight
Zorya is often described as a two faced dragon, even by her own admittance. Simply put, Zorya will put 100% of her skills, energy, and effort into her work when she has a job, but upon finishing her work she will completely flip and become rather lazy and laid back. Having been ostracized when she was young, joining the Seeker Order was incredibly important to her as it gave her responsibiliity and respect, so she puts everything she has into her work to remind herself that she deserves that respect. Yet, that takes a lot out of her, so she often spends any and all free time she has lounging around her lair, even going so far as to make her own terrarium to house the bird Sarruma gave her and the feather Serket did. Beyond her contrasting appearances on and off the job, Zorya is a deeply unsure dragon subject to her own self doubt. Though for the most part she keeps with the classic Gaoler style of conversation--brutish and to the point--if one catches her when she is tired, it is easy to see this doubt--she often speaks with a lilt to her voice, curled in on herself, with self-depricating comments sliding unbidden from her tongue. However, both Sarruma and Serket are incredibly good for her--beyond the fact that they work flawlessly together, Sarruma and Serket care deeply for their shared mate and strive to remind her every day of that. They often make cheesy jokes, sappy comments, and romantic gestures toward Zorya without restraint--a tactic that makes the Seeker quite flustered but clearly pleased--and never fail to remind her of her worth. Zorya values this beyond words; the idea of her having worth simply for being, and the fact that Sarruma and Serket sought her out on their own in the first place is incredibly important to her growing self-confidence.

How does the saying go?
Sleep with one eye open -
Keep your eyes open
And so I have, so I have
The watched become the watchers
So I've learned, so I learn

Humble beginnings, standing on the outside
I look in - a circle drawn in snow
Firmly on the outside
So I knew, so I know
Desperate for a hand to hold,
A chance to prove the worth I held
And then came you

Break down these walls I've built,
Take a crowbar to the locks, pry apart this guarded heart
Melt me down, set me free
I think I've found what I've wanted
What I've looked for, what I've sought
The watcher become the wanted
The Seekers become sought

I have been found
I have been found
I have been found

the piercing gaze of thirty eyes,
frigid spines that cut like knives.
the gaoler's order not yet gained,
she asks for guidance, path unnamed.
ragged horns, colossal claws
bestow upon her, with a pause,
a necklace carved to prove her skill,
as a seeker - what a thrill!

but self-doubt creeps through heart and mind,
confidence left far behind,
despite a pair of caring souls
that love her with the flame of coals.
onward does she chase the shade,
the monsters that her world forbade.
the duty that she must fulfill -
the three of them, with iron will.
