Ukon was the elder brother of Sakon and part of the Sound Four. The brothers were prisoners of Orochimaru but survived a fight to the death against other prisoners, proving themselves to be among the strongest prisoners of Orochimaru.
Later Kimimaro became the leader of the Sound Four, renaming them into Sound Five. They assisted Orochimaru with assassinations and similar missions as well as working as his bodyguards.

Ukon was normally not the main body of the brothers as Ukon and Sakon mostly shared a body. While one was active the other brother could rest.
In contrary to his brother he disliked to keep the battle going longer than needed. They were regarded as the strongest and fastest of the Sound Four. They had quick reflexes and powerful taijutsu. With their shared body the resting brother could perform sneak attacks while the other one fought actively. Especially Ukon was good in leaving and merging his brother's body without anyone noticing.
Like his other teammates Ukon was branded with the cursed seal and able to control it. Releasing the cursed seal to level 2 made both brothers able to merge with an opponent's body and killing them from the inside. However, when they were merged they would be inflicted the same damage as their host's body.
The brothers were killed in a battle against Kankuro.
