"I wish you could see yourself the way I do. Nobody ever told you, you shine like a diamond, glitter like gold, and you need to know."
❁ STORY
A bright and outgoing child, Crossfire was one of the first hatchlings the clan raised. Despite being quite extroverted, his was a different sort of sociable to Bereave’s, a softer more sharing type. He was a considerate youth, always thinking about others; helping Inerri out whenever he could and spending time with shy Seven. This never changed as he grew. His well-spoken, mild-mannered disposition became the perfect foundation for an ambassador. Not something he always dreamed of doing, Crossfire finds real satisfaction in knowing that he is much of the reason for the clan’s lasting peaceful relations with others. Polite and charming and never without a brilliant smile, Cross makes an excellent first impression, and not just for himself but for the whole clan (something they can use when other members of the lair are such trouble makers). Initially, he only greeted guests, but then began interacting with clans far away and eventually Beastclans (post the first peace settlements) were included. He and Feldspar spend quite a bit of time discussing their respective jobs and the requirements they have to meet; and Seven took up the responsibility of acting as the clan’s hostess. When Crossfire is travelling he typically takes a guard with, Ravelin predominantly, since Skye left, as he’s pacifistic in nature. He didn’t see the need for protection originally, but Venin insisted, and it has since proven to be invaluable. Skilled with words, as an ambassador should be, Crossfire is level-headed and during Assembly meetings, is frequently the voice of reason. He has never been seen angry, not truly, but he does get visibly frustrated and exasperated. Quick with snappy witticisms and the occasional waspish retort, Crossfire’s ability to be snarky is one of the least expected of his traits. The other is his rather fatalistic view of some situations. While ostensibly a shining optimistic ray of hope, Crossfire never goes into a situation expecting it will be easy. His ability to conjure up the worst case scenarios and ways to handle them are somewhat at odds with how he projects himself but no less useful for that. Always polite and kind, Crossfire is hard not to like and consequently most in the lair consider him a friend or an older brother in some cases. When he’s not on official Reliquary business, he’s being the best father the clan has ever seen, raising Ji Qeng with patience and warm smiles, assisting Inerri with other hatchlings. He carries large loads for Pencil and Helix or as a mentor for others. One of the largest dragons in the lair, Crossfire looks quite imposing at first glance and since he spends much of his time at the Assembly, is one of the first dragons visitors meet. It sometimes takes a moment for them to realise he’s actually a giant softy. ❁ OTHER
