___Introduction
A member of the Lightning Collector sub-specie, Raijin's color array mark him as a night collector, his body optimized to collect the lightning that shatters the night sky. Though he is able to collect during the day at push it is more taxing on his body. The ridgeback is a welder for the species, an important role, for these lightning collectors have to check and weld even the smallest of damages; a role that requires precision. Welders will work most often with mechanics and engineers, doing any welding that they need; even if he borrows their gear to do it. Raijin also serves as a trapper, using his welding skill to create and lay elaborate traps for potential prey, supporting the sub species with the food and energy they need to collect the lightning..... these also double up as a defensive measure for pesky would be theives, for they often have concentrated electrical currents running through them.

Personality
Impulsive • Haughty • Tenacious Quiet • Observant As if having his species tendency of stealing / borrowing stuff was bad enough, its somehow made worse by both his impulsive and tenacious qualities; he can be in the middle of a job and already have the tools he needs, and he'll suddenly get up and 'borrow' someone elses. He's also quite tenacious with the stuff he has borrowed and dislikes returning it, more often than not Chii has to send another ridgeback to 'borrow' the tools back. He's also quite quiet, and if it wasn't for the pilfering of tools many wouldn't notice him, though he does hum when he's working; Raijin's is very observant as well, often spotting cracks in equipment before their owners and others; unfortunately this has led to some haughtiness on his part, as he thinks he's better than everyone. |

???? - still growing (Size/apparel etc) The spirit of lightning attached itself to the young ridgeback shortly after hatching, and has been with Raijin ever since; he helps out where he can, for as he contains some of the essence of lightning he can act as a small lightning rod, helping to draw certain strikes to the male, whether it be as Raijin's collecting lightning or during welding jobs. |

_________________________________________________________________ ___History Born within the specialized chambers of the Lightning Collector hub, it was known even before his birth that he and his clutch mates would be ideal creations for the subspecies; after all their parents were none other than Chii and Geniology. Despite the worry over their birth given the unusual power drop as they were hatching, all three were healthy and their colors, genes and gender recorded for the species records. Immediately he entered training as a lightning collector, but found he had some efficiency issues; after inquiring about the re-engineering process, Raijin decided to apply to adjust his tertiary gene to capsule, feeling it would give him more staying power, even though there is nothing within the breeds research notes that shows it affects their collecting abilities; still the 2 day old hatchling was tenacious and has since completed the process. He soon began to show promise with welding, stealing into the welding section to watch those who worked, soon picking smaller often missed damages. His keen eye and willingness to learn outside of his lightning collection duties soon saw him placed under their apprenticeship, as long as he was able to fulfill a quota of lightning collected. Given his size and proficiency for the more delicate welding jobs, Raijin often gets sent to the travelers to weld their equipment, even if its just to 'hold' them together until they are able to get a mechanic to look at it fully. Though his genes are a perfect match for the species standards, Raijin has aspiration for further engineering, wishing to adjust his tapir and striation genes to pinstripe and trail, though he is aware of a wait for this, given the species more priority adjustment of those who are not quite at the breeds standards. |

Raijin gets along quite well with his ridgeback sister, as well as both his dam and sire; however, his relationship with Yokai is a bit more complex, the wildclaw loves to drown him in the water, often lying in wait; yet even with this risk, he still tries to borrow her tools. It has become almost a game of sorts for him... to see if he can get away borrowing Yokai's things..... The ridgeback is more than happy to be a suitor to the females of the subspecies should the need arise; he has however shown a marked interest in River as a mate and a possible rivalry with Haokah over her favor. |

At first everything seemed to be operating at normal capacity, the incubation chambers of the newest Lightning Collecter's were close to completion... many of the sub-species had come to see, for these three were not just any new collecters, these were Chii and Geniology's progeny. It was impossible to tell what species the younglings would be, but the common consensus was that they would be Ridgebacks, as the Wildclaw gene was rarer, still.... no one minded as long as they were healthy.

Worry set in as darkness fell, the hum of the incubaters fading as power was lost, the few minutes that it took for new power packs to be installed ticked on.
The power flickered, and Chii moved closer to the pods, they'd stopped pulsing and seemed inert... three new lives lost, their potential never realised.
Suddenly the first pod pulsed, shattering and a small female ridgeback emerged, and she was immediately whisked away to be checked out, worry over the power outage that she'd be less than ideal for their species.
Witihn mere moments, the other two shattered, the second a Ridgeback male tumbled out, weaving in the fluid that had so recently encased him; but before Chii could grab him, the third pod shattered, and a female Wildclaw fell on top of him. A whirling mass of limbs as the siblings snapped and fell over one another; until finally Chii and Geniology grabbed them; Chii holding the male whilst her mate held the wildclaw as they took them to be checked out, their sibling already cleared.

All three were registered as Lightning collectors, with no engineering required unless they choose to adjust themselves; and immediately began training to become full effecient members of the sub species.
There was just one teensy problem.
Raajin, the Ridgeback male shared the common trait of his species of 'stealing' things, in this case, tools and powerpacks needed for his welding job.
Now this wouldn't normally of mattered, except he seemed to prefer those tools that his Wildclaw sister used, for some reason Yokai's were just right.
At first the young wildclaw didn't realize what was happening, but as the incidents became more and more common. she decided to lay a trap. She moved all her gear to near the lake she favored and hid beneath the waters, not even her ghost markings made her visible, infact, during the night they allowed her to blend in.
So she waited, surfacing momentarily to breathe... when she finally sensed another, the storm highlighting the dragons profile... it was Raijin, her own brother.
The ridgeback, unaware of his sisters presence hummed to himself as he raided her supplies, of course he'd been aware of when she moved them, and where, but it made no difference, he needed the wrench for his current job.
Yokai moved slowly her body gradually rising from the water, her brother unaware of her presence still... her eyes gleaming with her energy.... until she pounced, dragging Raijin into the water and holding him there as he struggled beneath her. Whether or nor she would of relented of her own accord is unknown, for she was stopped when Chii and Geniology intervened, well when Chii intervened dragging Yokai away and pulling Raijin to land, before scolding the both of them.
You'd think Raijin would learn, but the urge to borrow his sisters equipment is too much, and it is worth the risk of a dunking.... though he might need a body guard if he keeps it up.
Meanwhile, Yokai is always aware of her bothers presence, and often lurks in the waters when off duty... waiting....
